Candidates Debate

In view of the coming federal election, today i wrote a letter to all the candidates (that i know of) for my local seat of Ryan.

I asked each of the candidates to outline their commitment and strategies for tackling climate change. I shall publish the responses as i receive them.

If you wish to view the letter i sent (and maybe even send a similar letter to the candidates for your seat) click on the "comments" link below.

Dear Candidates

As you are no doubt aware, there is a federal election later this year. It is well documented that Climate Change is a major issue for our country - and our world. Actually, in my opinion, it is the greatest issue we face.

For this reason I am writing to each of you, as candidates for the seat of Ryan, to give you an opportunity to impress me with your commitment to tackling the situation, and your strategies for doing so.

In short, I want to know what I can expect you to do to reduce carbon emissions, should you be elected. My vote will be based on your responses.

Extra credit will be given for plans that show initiative and leadership. Points will be deducted for untrue statements about other parties, or about climate change in general. Prompt and honest replies will be looked on favourably.

Best of luck gentlemen.

Regards,
David Weddell
